Jason Stark is a Certified Public Accountant who brings a business and numbers focus to his corporate practice. Jason specializes in venture capital, private placements and fund formation, M&A, and general corporate transactions, advisement and contract disputes. Jason advises emerging and growth companies with financing rounds, corporate structuring (including complex capitalization tables), corporate governance, investor relations and deferred compensation (e.g., stock options). Jason has helped dozens of VC backed companies from Latin America, Brazil, Miami, Silicon Valley and New York close financing transactions, including over $100 million in financing rounds for a Miami based company and over $40 million for a Brazilian based company. Jason also advises various companies, private equity and hedge funds with fund formation, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and general advisement. Jason’s other corporate transactional experience includes domestic and cross-border joint ventures, corporate finance, shareholder agreements for all entity types (including partnership and operating agreements), corporate formation, structuring and restructurings and contract disputes. Jason is licensed as an attorney in Florida and New York. Prior to joining Private Advising Group, Jason was a corporate attorney with O’Melveny & Myers, LLP (AmLaw 100) in New York where he focused his practice on private equity and M&A. In Miami, he was a corporate attorney with Greenberg Traurig, P.A. (AmLaw 100), where he focused on venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and general company advisement (especially in Latin-America). Jason also has “Big Four” accounting experience as a former Senior Tax Consultant at Deloitte & Touche. Jason has a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Florida and was a board member of the Florida Law Review. He also has a joint Bachelor and Master of Accounting degree, cum laude (with a minor in economics) from the University of Florida and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Honors Society.
