Spanish born, Sofía Yagüe is a quintessential cross border lawyer with a problem solving attitude. Sofia not only holds both civil and common law legal degrees, but she also holds a degree in business administration, which allows her to understand the economic side of the transactions she works in. Sofia focuses her practice on international corporate transactions (particularly in the areas of M&A and venture capital) and regularly advises international growth companies and investors on the challenges of raising capital and how to best harmonize to the practices of the U.S. VC market. Prior to joining Private Advising Group, Sofía was a foreign associate at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office in the Corporate and Securities International Practice Group. Earlier in her career, Sofía was an associate at leading Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, where she was a member of the firm’s select International Pro Advocacy Program (PPAI). While at Cuatrecasas she worked on complex international corporate and tax matters, with particular emphasis on planning and optimizing real estate investments in Spain by nonresident aliens and analyzing the applicability of the ETVE regime for routing investments towards Latin America. Sofía holds a Masters in Corporate Law (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law and a Law Degree from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. In addition to her legal education, Sofia holds a Business Administration Degree, with a specialization in Marketing, from CEU San Pablo University in Madrid and received part of her education at the European Business School in London, UK. She is licensed to practice both in Spain and New York, and is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in French.
